Duke Dining to No Longer Use Styrofoam

Styrofoam banned in all eateries on campus due to negative environmental effects

Long recognized as a national leader in sustainability, having begun composting over 11 years ago, Duke Dining has taken another leap ahead for Duke University by banning styrofoam in all of its dining locations. All on-campus Duke Dining locations, including national brands under contract to Duke, have removed Polystyrene foam -- commonly referred to by the brand name Styrofoam -- noting its negative environmental impacts from production through disposal in landfills.
