As a way to help faculty and staff start a healthy 2014, LIVE FOR LIFE, Duke's employee wellness program, is offering a special training program for employees who want to run a half or full marathon.

Starting now, employees can sign up to be part of the "Duke Endurance" team for April's Rock 'n' Roll half and full marathon in Raleigh. As part of the group, participants receive a race registration discount, free virtual and in-person coaching sessions and a Duke team T-shirt. All levels of runners are able to join the team, which will start the Rock and Roll race together on April 13.

Those who sign up for the Duke Endurance team can also receive $10 off race registration by using the promo code "CORPDUKEU." Signup is available online and the discount will run until April 2.

As part of preparation, LIVE FOR LIFE staff will lead two Saturday workouts a month at West Campus to help runners prepare for the race. Group exercise sessions will begin in January. There is no registration limit to receive free training, but the first 200 faculty and staff who sign up receive a free Duke Endurance team T-shirt upon registering for the Rock 'n' Roll race.

Employees can sign up for the Duke team online. LIVE FOR LIFE coaches will contact participants after registration is complete.
