Duke in Pictures: Friday in the Gardens -- A Good Day for a Duck

Between four and five inches of rain was recorded Friday as Tropical Storm Andrea moved through the Triangle, leaving the south lawn of Duke Gardens indistinguishable from the lawn's pool. (Photo by Duke Gardens Executive Director Bill LeFevre.)
The weekend's aftermath was more pleasant. Over in the gardens, the draining system had the lawns dry enough for hundreds of visitors to enjoy the lawn and flowers.
A new front is coming in Monday morning, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms, some with strong winds. But Wednesday's forecast is clear, in time for a 7 p.m. concert by the David Wax Museum in the Duke Gardens.
Right, a photo from Duke postdoc Nicholas Manzo shows a rainbow on campus following rain on June 3.
