Working@Duke will commemorate "Administrative Professionals Day," which is April 24, in the April issue of Working@Duke.

In April, we'll celebrate Duke's administrative professionals, and we need your help.

We're looking for administrative secretaries, administrative assistants and executive assistants to feature in the April issue of Working@Duke to commemorate "Administrative Professionals Day" on April 24.

Got someone special in mind at Duke who deserves extra recognition?

Send us an email with the staff member's name and department and tell us why you're nominating him or her to be included in Working@Duke in April. Feel free to include a short work-related anecdote about the staff member and include any unique skills he or she brings to the office.

There are more than 4.1 million secretaries and administrative assistants working in the U.S., according to U.S. Department of Labor statistics, and 8.9 million people working in various administrative support roles.

At Duke, about 2,000 administrative professionals fill our ranks.

To offer our own thanks to administrative professionals, Working@Duke will conduct a random drawing and award a $25 gift from Duke University Stores to a Duke administrative professional on behalf of the nominator.

Nominations for the Working@Duke feature will be accepted through Jan. 18. Stay tuned for the story in April.
