Duke Today Podcast: Exhibit Recalls Life During Civil War

civilwar250.jpg
Photos, letters and other materials recalls the Civil War as it was experienced by soldiers and civilians.

A new exhibit in Duke’s Perkins Library and online is called
"Memories
of the Civil War."
It uses books, photos, music, letters and personal
momentos to give us a vivid look at life during wartime.

Two of the exhibit curators talk about items in the
collection and upcoming events to accompany the exhibit. One highlight is a
Civil War symposium in mid-March, with historians from Duke and other
institutions.

"Memories of the Civil War" is presented by the
David M. Rubenstein Rare Book and Manuscript Library. The exhibit will be on
display through the end of March.
