Dr. Paul Farmer, a Duke University trustee and alumnus, spoke Dec. 3, 2011, at Duke's Reynolds Auditorium about his latest book, "Haiti After the Earthquake." Farmer is a member of the Duke Global Health Institute Board of Advisors and is the founding director of Partners in Health.

Audience members, both those in the auditorium and watching a live webcast, submitted about 100 questions for Farmer by email and social media. Professors Laurent Dubois and Deborah Jenson, co-directors of Duke's Haiti Lab, moderated the questions. Duke Provost Peter Lange gave an introduction.

The talk was co-sponsored by several Duke units: the Office of the Provost, Franklin Humanities Institute, Sanford School of Public Policy and the Duke Global Health Institute.
