A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of central North Carolina from 6 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Thursday due to a forecast of rain changing to freezing rain and sleet overnight. Little to no accumulation is expected, and officials do not expect to activate the severe weather policy. Classes are also expected to be held as scheduled on Thursday.
While temperatures should rise above freezing Thursday morning, those traveling to and around Duke facilities should allow for extra time as there could be icy spots in areas. Managers should be flexible with staffing where appropriate.
More information will be shared on Duke Today as conditions warrant.
