Working@Duke wants to hear how staff and faculty plan to grow next year, getting 1% better each day at work and beyond

As a new year approaches, what small steps will you take in 2026 to grow – at work, at home and everywhere in between?
Inspired by KAIZEN, a Japanese business philosophy that focuses on continuous, everyday improvement, Working@Duke invites staff and faculty to share how they plan to get 1% better each day. Small, steady steps can create powerful change.
“What if all of us committed to getting 1% better every day?” Antwan Lofton, Vice President for Duke Human Resources, asked at a recent campus summit for Duke’s communicators. “Think of the collective power of such positive change.”
Whether you want to strengthen your skills, boost your well-being or bring new energy to your work, we’d love to hear your plans.
Please take a moment to complete this brief questionnaire by 12 p.m. Nov. 21. We may follow up to learn more for an upcoming Working@Duke story.
We’ll give away a 2026 professional development course, courtesy of Duke Learning & Organization Development (L&OD), to a participant.
