Published by Forbes and the market research firm Statista, the list is based, in large part, on survey responses from more than 218,000 workers at organizations with more than 1,000 employees. The respondents, who could remain anonymous, were asked if they would recommend their current or former employers to others. They were also asked to rate their current employers on company culture topics such as fairness, inclusivity, opportunity, work-life balance and whether input and ideas from employees are valued.

“At Duke Health, we’ve worked hard to create a culture where every team member feels seen, heard, and valued,” said Ian Lee Brown, Duke University Health System Vice President and Chief Employee Experience Officer. “Being named one of America’s Best Employers for Company Culture in 2025 reflects the heart of who we are and the environment we’re continuing to build together.”

In 2025, Duke University and Duke University Health System were honored by Forbes as among “America’s Best-in-State Employers” and “America’s Best Employers for New Grads.” Duke University was included in Forbes 2025 list of “America’s Best Large Employers.”
