A busy day at the Brodhead Center.

Available to all customers during service hours, Daily Devil Deals are designed for diners looking for a quick snack, a lighter option or reliable value. While most menu options at Duke Dining locations range from roughly $8 to $13, the price of the Daily Devil Deals are set at $5 or less – tax not included.

Among the $5 options at the Brodhead Center are a slice of pizza and three breadsticks from Il Forno, chana masala with rice and naan bread at Tandoor and an egg and cheese biscuit and a banana at The Skillet.

Elsewhere on campus, Daily Devil Deals include a small hot or iced coffee and a muffin from Twinnie’s near the Harrington Engineering Quad, two hot dogs and a side of chips at the Gothic Grill in the Bryan Center, two hard-boiled eggs, string cheese and a piece of fruit from Red Mango in Wilson Recreation Center and a rotating menu of daily options at Marketplace in the Wall Center for Student Life on East Campus.

“We know that people are always looking for value, by having a menu with items that are $5, we can help them make that happen,” said Kirsten Anderson, Duke Dining Director of Communications.

Margaret Maples, a Training Coordinator in the Duke Department of Psychology & Neuroscience, heard about the Daily Devil Deals program not long after landing at Duke around seven years ago.

Since then, she’s become a fan of the tacos from Sazón, the rice bowls from Ginger + Soy and an advocate for the Daily Devil Deals program.

“When you need a little something to help get you through the day, it’s perfect,” Maples said. “I like that this is an option.”
