Opening a Window to Savings on Blinds
Expert help and an employee discount make a new house feel like home

Figuring out how to cover the windows in the three-bedroom ranch-style home was something Tanabe was happy to get help with. After getting recommendations from new neighbors, Tanabe called Linda Privott, owner of Durham-based All About Blinds & Shutters.
Privott toured Tanabe’s new home, asking what each room would be used for and what kind of feel she’d like for each space.
“Linda was great,” Tanabe said. “She showed us all kinds of options, listened to what we wanted and then said ‘OK, here’s what you need.’”
When Tanabe and her husband moved in, Privott and her crew installed the blinds and shades that gave the Tanabes’ home the right feel, right away.
Duke staff and faculty can get similar support with window treatments through All About Blinds & Shutters and enjoy a 10% discount on materials for blinds and shades through Duke’s employee discount program, which offers discounts for restaurants, pet care, car repairs and more.
All About Blinds & Shutters, which serves the Triangle and neighboring counties, has participated in the discount program for more than a decade. In addition to the wide variety of blinds, shades and shutters, All About Blinds & Shutters offers the personal touch and products that can match a desired amount of light, sound and temperature.
“I consult with the client to get to know their space and understand how the space will be utilized,” Privott said. “This is how I achieve making the client’s house feel like home.”
