You Work at Duke. How Has Duke’s Medical Research Helped You?

Working@Duke is collecting stories from Duke staff and faculty whose health has been positively impacted by biomedical research

As a Duke staff and faculty member, you are part of a university that, for the past 100 years, has advanced knowledge and improved lives through groundbreaking research, transformative teaching and compassionate care. And some of the most powerful examples of Duke’s impact can be found in the personal stories of our own Duke colleagues.

We’re inviting Duke staff and faculty to share how Duke biomedical research has made a difference in their lives or in the lives of their immediate family members.

Has a clinical trial at Duke led to a treatment you didn’t think was possible for yourself? Did you or a loved one benefit from research that changed how patient care is delivered? Or has a groundbreaking discovery by Duke researchers – such as cochlear implants or genetic testing for Alzheimer’s or cancer – helped you or an immediate family member?

Your story can help illustrate the human impact of federally funded research at Duke and show how innovation here directly supports the health of the people who make Duke what it is.

As part of an upcoming Working@Duke cover story, we’re collecting firsthand accounts to highlight how biomedical research at Duke is not only transforming health care but also transforming the lives of our own workforce.
