Said@Duke: Attorneys Discuss Data Privacy Challenges
Attorneys representing plaintiffs in cases against Amazon, FloHealth and Meta spoke at Duke on Data Privacy Day about the privacy interests and protections at stake. Speakers also addressed the addictive properties of Instagram for teenagers.
“The federal government isn’t going to legislate privacy - there are too many competing interests and incentives. If you’re not going to legislate, you’re going to litigate," said attorney Carol Villegas.
The event was sponsored by Duke Law and co-sponsored by the Sanford School of Public Policy and the Duke Initiative for Science & Society.
