‘Millennial Parent Whisperer’ Dr. Becky Brings Offers Advice on the Toughest Job of All
Duke alumna spoke to sell-out audience at Duke
This month, Trinity alumna Dr. Becky Kennedy, clinical psychologist and “millennial parent whisperer,” returned to Duke to chat with Aaron Dinin of Duke Innovation & Entrepreneurship before a full house in White Auditorium.
Kennedy covered parenting topics, such as the importance of teaching children to embrace failure as a learning opportunity, the emotional skills we all need to develop, and how to redefine success not as perfection, but as growth.
The conversation had the many parents in the room laughing, crying and feeling a little less alone. Kennedy’s insights remind us that it’s okay to not have all the answers -- what matters is staying in the “learning space” and continuing to grow together.
