“This gathering provides us with a moment to spend time with our work family before the holiday season gets too hectic,” Lofton said. “This is a time to gather as a community to share in this special performance by a treasured Duke chorale group.”

The University Chorale will sing a variety of music about light from Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Hindu religions, and include other seasonal tunes about snow and the winter season.

The Chorale is the primary choral group of the Department of Music at Duke and made up 55 singers, led by Allan Friedman and Mary Hamilton at piano. It sings sacred and secular music from a variety of eras and traditions throughout the year including a Family Weekend Concert, a benefit concert for a Durham charity and a Spring Concert with orchestra.
