Said@Duke: Gabriela Badillo on Pride and Respect for Native Communities in Mexico
Gabriela Badillo is a creative director from Mexico City. In 2013, she created ¡Hola! Combo is a creative studio with a special interest in educational, social, and cultural affairs. Firmly believing in the power of art and animation as vehicles for change, she has given life to projects such as '68 voces 68 corazones', a collaborative project that promotes pride and respect for the native communities, pride in their identity, and the use of the 68 native languages of Mexico.
The event was co-hosted by Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies.
The Wednesdays at the Center is a topical weekly series in which scholars, artists, journalists, and others speak informally about their work in conversation with the audience. This event was hosted by the John Hope Franklin Center.
