During the pandemic In 2020, Matt Lardie found himself at home with more time on his hands than ever before. To fill that time, he turned to a love of plants.
What first began as the occasional stop at a hardware store to look at their selection quickly grew into an obsession to find the perfect plants for his space. Today, Lardie, a Communications Strategist with the Duke University School of Nursing, works a hybrid schedule. His love for plants has expanded to his campus office.
“When I’m at home working, I have probably about 150 plants in the room with me. Here on campus, I have about 30, which seems like a lot, but not for me,” Lardie said.
In the latest installment of Working@Duke's “In the Office With…” video series, meet Lardie and hear what inspired his love for plants.
