What You Need to Know for Medical Benefits Open Enrollment 2025

Staff and faculty can enroll in or adjust benefits from Oct. 14-25

Open enrollment for medical benefits begins at 8 a.m. Oct. 14 and ends at 6 p.m. Oct. 25. Eligible staff and faculty can adjust medical, dental and vision plans for coverage effective January 1, 2025.

Duke’s medical, dental, and vision plans continue to offer affordable deductibles and access to the world-class Duke University Health System, ensuring continued value for staff, faculty, and their families.

There will again be no increases in copays or deductibles for any of Duke’s health, dental or vision plans, and there are no increases in premiums for dental or vision coverage next year. However, Duke’s 2025 monthly premiums for health insurance will increase between $4 and $22 per month for individual coverage, depending on the plan selected.

Insurance premiums will increase in line with industry peers and large employers across the nation due to inflation and rising prices for specialty medications, as increased utilization continue to drive health plan premium increases nationally.

In the past fiscal year, Duke paid $391.6 million for health care needs of roughly 77,000 covered lives, up $63.9 million from the previous year.
