Enjoy a Car-Free Commute at No Cost with GoPass

Duke makes unlimited rides on GoTriangle buses available to all students, staff and faculty

All students, staff and faculty of Duke University and Duke University Health System can receive unlimited free rides on GoTriangle buses by enrolling in the GoPass program sponsored by Duke Parking & Transportation Services.

Eligible users must have a Duke NetID and Duke email address that ends in duke.edu to qualify for the free GoPass program.

No-cost access to the GoPass program is part of Duke’s array of alternative transportation resources, including resources for carpooling and vanpools, aimed at alleviating parking demands around Duke and creating a more sustainable campus.

GoTriangle offers regional bus service covering Durham, Orange and Wake Counties. The GoPass allows riders to board GoTriangle and GoRaleigh buses. GoDurham and GoCary are fare free for 2024-25 and no boarding credential is required.

Eligible Duke community members can access  a digital GoPass with GoTriangle’s fare payment app, Umo.

They must first apply for a GoPass by registering here with their Duke NetID and Duke email address and applying for an activation code. Then, after downloading the app on their Apple or Android devices and entering the code, they can use their smart devices to board any GoTriangle bus. New codes will be issued twice a year. Duke Parking & Transportation Services will notify users via email about code changes.

Physical GoPass cards are available for $5 at the Regional Transit Center’s Pass Sales Office at 901 Slater Road in Durham. Or, for $6 you can order a card by phone by calling the Regional Information Center at 919-485-7433 and have it mailed to you.

GoPass Cards are not available at Duke Parking & Transportation Services Offices.
