In July, Piper C. Malone-Mitchell, Esq. received her Senior Certified Professional credentials through the Society for Human Resources Management, the world’s largest HR professional society.
Malone-Mitchell , a 2005 graduate of Trinity School of Arts & Sciences, joined Duke in November 2021 and currently serves as a Director of Human Resources in the Office of Central Human Resources, where she oversees internal investigations, manages three collective bargaining agreements, and works on other human resources initiatives. Prior to joining Duke, she served more than 13 years as a practicing attorney and administrator in higher education, sports, and the entertainment industry.
The designation of Senior Certified Professional distinguishes individuals whose work includes developing HR policies or procedures, overseeing the execution of integrated HR operations, directing an entire HR enterprise or leading the alignment of HR strategies to organizational goals. Malone-Mitchell completed and passed the four-hour exam earlier this month.
In addition to her undergraduate degree in public policy from Duke, Malone-Mitchell obtained her Juris Doctorate from the Howard University School of Law, and her Master of Professional Studies in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University. She also serves as an adjunct professor for Georgetown University and the University of Dayton School of Law.
