Duke University Health System has a long history of providing educational opportunities for Durham County high school students through the MaryAnnBlackSummerInternshipProgram. This summer, DUHS will once again collaborate with Durham YouthWorks for this education‐to-career internship program from July 8-26, 2024.
The objective of the summer internship program is to expose high school students interested in a career in health care to a wide variety of professions at Duke Health. This exposure is designed to strengthen students’ interest in the health care industry and to build a pipeline that meets the health care workforce shortages in our community. Every role within Duke Health is vital to our mission and any shortage in any area impacts us all.
Please help us identify colleagues within your entity willing to present information to our interns about their profession and their career journey. Last summer, we were able to expose students to 60 different professions within Duke Health.
If you (or a colleague) are interested in participating, please click here to submit a volunteer form before May 31, 2024. You can also access more information by clicking here.
