Comments Sought for Regular Review of Vice Provost/Vice President of Student Affairs Mary Pat McMahon

Mary Pat McMahon

A university committee, appointed by Provost Alec D. Gallimore and Executive Vice President Daniel G. Ennis, is seeking comments as part of a regular administrative review of Vice Provost/ Vice President of Student Affairs Mary Pat McMahon.  Reviews of senior administrators are typically conducted in the final year of a five-year term, and the results compiled in a confidential report.  Mary Pat McMahon has served in her position since July 2019.

Members of the review committee are:

  • Annie Forrest – MBA Candidate, Fuqua School of Business
  • Chris Lott – Deputy General Counsel
  • David Malone – Professor of the Practice of Education, Trinity College of Arts & Sciences
  • Ann Pelham (T’74) – Duke University Board of Trustees
  • Deborah Reisinger – Dean, Undergraduate Affairs, Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, Professor of the Practice of Romance Studies
  • Deondra Rose – Kevin D. Gorter Associate Professor of Public Policy, Political Science, and History
  • Nancy Zucker – Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Director of Graduate Studies, Department of Psychology & Neuroscience

An important part of the review process is the gathering of input from the University’s many constituencies.  Observations regarding the vice provost/vice president of student affair’s leadership and suggestions for the future of the Student Affairs organization are important to the committee’s work.  The committee invites you to share your thoughts by Email or using this Online Form.  Communication should include the nature of your interactions with Mary Pat McMahon and her team in order to understand the context of your comments as fully as possible.

All communications will be treated as confidential, to be shared only with the members of the review committee.  An aggregate summary will be included in the committee’s written report to the provost and executive vice president.

The deadline for submitting comments is March 15, 2024.
