Duke Dining has opened its new allergy-friendly dining option at the Bryan Center. The venue “It’s Thyme,” free of the nine most common food allergens, opened Jan. 24.
The new venue is entirely free of peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, milk, eggs, sesame, soy, wheat and fish. Student focus groups with Duke Dining had expressed an interest for an allergy-free venue.
Menu items were inspired by the team’s kitchen staff as well as representatives from the Duke University Student Dining Committee. One-third of the menu is named after students who shared ideas with the venue’s team during planning.
The committee encourages menu ideas from students for It’s Thyme. Approved items will be featured on the menu along with student names and stories.
