Search Committee Named for Next Nicholas Institute Director
As authorized by Provost Alec Gallimore, Vice President and Vice Provost Toddi Steelman and Vice Provost Ed Balleisen have appointed a committee to lead the search for Duke University’s next director of the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment and Sustainability.
The search committee is chaired by Aaron (Ronnie) Chatterji, the Mark Burgess & Lisa Benson-Burgess Distinguished Professor of Business and Public Policy. Other members of the committee are:
- Sarah Bermeo, Associate Professor of Public Policy and Political Science
- Chris Beyrer, Professor of Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Duke Global Health Institute Director
- Merlise Clyde, Professor of Statistical Science
- Christine Folch, Bacca Foundation Associate Professor of Cultural Anthropology
- Heileen (Helen) Hsu-Kim, Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
- Luana Lima, Assistant Professor of the Practice in Energy & Data Analytics, Environmental Sciences & Policy
- Michelle Nowlin, Clinical Professor of Law and Environmental Law & Policy Clinic Co-Director
- Devon Noonan, Associate Professor and Dorothy L. Powell Term Chair of Nursing
- William (Bill) K. Reilly, Chair, Advisory Board for the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability
- John Virdin, Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Division of Marine Science & Conservation
The committee has been charged with conducting a thorough search to identify a diverse pool of candidates for the position. Executive search firm Isaacson, Miller will support the committee.
