The HR Strategic Business Partner certificate program was designed for team members currently operating in a Human Resources capacity. This certificate complements the HR professional’s toolkit by providing learning opportunities apart from one’s usual area of practice. Participants will explore strategies that enable them to shift mindsets from being solely tactical to more strategic in order to better address the emerging needs of the organization. For more information or to apply for this program, contact michelle.jones@duke.edu.
The Duke Management Academy was created for mid-level managers as part of Duke’s commitment to develop leaders at all levels within Duke University and Duke University Health System. Participants must be sponsored by a Duke vice president, dean or highest-ranking official within a division. The program consists of 12 months of professional development that includes leadership development classes and learning assignments. To apply, contact joy.birmingham@duke.edu.
The Duke Leadership Academy offers emerging leaders from across the university the opportunity to participate in a unique 12-month development initiative based on The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership. The curriculum includes a focus on leadership and management styles and behaviors to implement strategy. Participation in the program is highly selective based on nominations by Duke’s vice presidents and deans. To apply for this program, contact keisha.williams@duke.edu.
