New Professional Development Course Offers Leadership Lessons for all Levels
Learning & Organization Development’s new course on leading yourself helps employees find ways to thrive
Build Your Career Skills
Duke Learning & Organization Development offers a wide range of professional and technical development courses.
“With this course, we want to work with direct reports and teach them how to ask their managers and supervisors for what they need to be successful,” said Senior Learning & Organization Development Consultant Don Shortslef, one of the leaders of the course.
Course participants will learn how to set goals, identify potential obstacles and effectively articulate both to their managers. The goal is to give both managers and employees a common language with which to chart a path to both individual and team success.
“This course is for anyone,” Shortslef said. “An individual contributor can take it and a manager can take it for their own sake as well. It’s for anybody who reports to somebody.”
Duke Learning & Organization Development, a unit in Duke Human Resources, has a range of professional and technical courses available for the remainder of the year.
