UPDATE: All Clear at UNC Campus (Armed and Dangerous Person Reported on UNC-CH Campus)

Sept. 13, 2023: 2:18 p.m.

UNC Officials have now issued the all clear following the report of an armed and dangerous person on campus earlier this afternoon.  Bus service to UNC-CH will resume at 2:30 p.m.

Sept. 13, 2023: 1:35 p.m.

An armed and dangerous person was reported near UNC Chapel Hill shortly before 1 p.m. today. Duke has stopped bus service to UNC and is urging people to stay away from the UNC campus until the alert is lifted.

This is an ongoing investigation. Updates are being posted to Alert Carolina. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
