Comments Invited for Regular Review of Vice President Kimberly Hewitt

Vice President for Institutional Equity has served in role since 2019

A university committee is seeking comments as part of a scheduled administrative review of Vice President for Institutional Equity and Chief Diversity Officer Kimberly Hewitt. Reviews of senior administrators are typically conducted in the fourth year of a five-year term and the results compiled in a confidential report.

This will be the first such review for Hewitt, who has served in her position since August of 2019.

Members of the review committee are:

  • Ann Brown, Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Professionalism in the School of Medicine
  • Edgardo Colón-Emeric, Dean of the Divinity School
  • Mark Anthony Neal, James B. Duke Distinguished Professor of African and African American Studies
  • Neera Skurky, Associate General Counsel
  • Adrienne Stiff-Roberts, Jeffrey N. Vinik Professor; 2022-23 Presidential Fellow
  • Kevin Thomas,Professor of Medicine; Vice Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Joyce Williams, Associate Vice President for Total Rewards, Human Resources

An important part of the review process is the gathering of input from the university’s many constituencies. Comments on performance and suggestions for the future are important to the committee’s work.

The committee invites you to share your thoughts by email. Communication should include the nature of your interactions with Hewitt and her office to understand the context of your comments as fully as possible.

Your thoughts should be sent to admin-review@duke.edu and will be subsequently communicated to the committee. Information provided to the committee will be held in confidence but may be reported without attribution as part of the committee’s report that will be submitted to President Vincent Price.
