The Lilly Library expansion and renovation project will result in the closure this summer of six tennis courts on East Campus.
With work on the Lilly Library project expected to begin in July, an initial step is to remove six of the eight tennis courts behind the library to make way for the building’s expanded footprint and utilities.
The two tennis courts and six pickleball courts closest to the Brodie Recreation Center will remain open throughout the Lilly renovation project, which is expected to last two years.
Proposed plans call for the design and construction of six new tennis courts and six new pickleball courts in the Hanes Field area on the west side of Brodie Gym. The courts are expected to be ready for play in 2025.
Once the new courts are completed, the existing courts on the east side of Brodie will be replaced and transformed into a landscaped quad, featuring grass and trees.
