Cydney Ross earned ACC Performer of the Week honors in the final week of the indoor track and field regular season as announced by the conference Tuesday. The St. Louis, Mo., native broke two school records and qualified for the 2013 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend, March 1-2 at the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
Ross broke the school record in the women's 800 meter by crossing the line in 2:05.27 to give her the victory in the event and the NCAA qualifying mark. The night before, the middle distance specialist ran as a member of Duke women's distance medley relay team that broke the previous record by over five seconds, combining for a time of 11:01.50. Ross ran the 800 leg in an unofficial time of 2:03.4.
