DURHAM, N.C.-The Duke University men's soccer squad has officially announced its 2013 spring schedule and will play four games from April 7-20. The Blue Devils will host a minimum of two games on its practice field at 751 and will travel to Greensboro for another date.
Duke opens the spring campaign April 7 against Cincinnati at 11 a.m. The Blue Devils and Bearcats will play at the practice facility along Highway 751. Cincinnati will play NC State April 6 as well after posting a 6-9-4 record in 2012.
The Blue Devils will face a tough midweek test, April 10 against the Carolina Railhawks. The Railhawks are a part of the North American Soccer League and play in Cary, N.C. The local professional squad recently fell to the Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer, but defeated the Richmond Kickers 4-1 in a second preseason match. Game time has yet to be set for this match.
Duke will make the drive to Bryan Park in Greensboro, N.C., April 13 to play High Point at 1 p.m. The Panthers finished 2012 with a 12-5-3 overall record and fell to top-seeded Coastal Carolina in the Big South Tournament championship game.
A week later, the squad closes out the spring against ACC foe NC State, April 20 at 12 p.m. at the 751 practice field. The Blue Devils edged the Wolfpack 1-0 in the 2012 regular season.
