The Possibility of Doing Good

Chapel and Pratt deans to talk about engineering and social good

Chapel Dean Samuel Wells and Kristina Johnson, Dean of the Pratt School of Engineering, will engage in the third in a series of dialogues on the question "is it possible to do any good?" The discussion will take place on Thursday, February 15, from 12:20 to 1:20 p.m in Schiciano Auditorium in the Fitzpatrick Center. A question-and-answer session will follow their talk.

This discussion will center on the theme of engineering and how advances affect social good.

"Does every act of engineering always assume a certain amount of social engineering?" said Wells. "If engineering has for so long done so much that has made life so much better for so many people, how come there is still so much in the world that is so wrong?"

This discussion is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring bag lunches.
