From First Swing to Fairway: Join Duke University Golf Club's 'Get Golf Ready' Program
Ready to take a swing at golf?
The Get Golf Ready Program at the Duke University Golf Club gives beginners a fun, low-pressure introduction to the game. Across five sessions, participants learn putting, chipping, bunker play, full swings, golf etiquette and the basics of playing on the course.
The program is offered multiple times each year, including in August, with discounted pricing for Duke staff and faculty and retirees. Clubs are available for participants who need them.
Classes, held from 5:30 to 7 p.m., are limited to 16 people and fill quickly. Duke staff and faculty can subscribe to the PERQs email list to be among the first to hear when registration opens for the next session.
After completing Get Golf Ready, participants can continue building their skills by joining the Get Golf Ready League. The league meets once a week during the golf season for nine holes and offers a reduced playing rate for the league round. A small league fee also helps fund prizes awarded at the end of the season.
