Duke University Marine Lab: The Nicholas School of the Environment has selected Joel Fodrie as the new director of the Duke University Marine Lab in Beaufort, North Carolina. Fodrie, who grew up in Beafort, comes from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was director of the Institute of Marine Sciences. Fodrie’s research focuses on coastal and estuarine ecosystems, fisheries ecology, and the resilience of marine communities.
