Trustees Conclude Discussion of DST 2.0, Look Ahead

Board also approves the FY 2027 capital and operating budgets

This was followed by a panel discussion on Duke’s innovation ecosystem, inviting participants to assess current strengths and gaps and provide guidance on how to better support, scale and translate breakthrough ideas. There was a discussion of Duke’s vision for AI and computing, including how Duke can lead in the future of societally grounded computing education and research. The session concluded with a discussion on positioning DST within the MADE FOR THIS campaign.  

In other business, the board:

  • Welcomed David Zaas, chief executive officer of Duke University Health System; 
  • Received a financial update and approved FY 2027 capital and operating budgets;
  •  Received updates on the MADE FOR THIS Campaign, global strategy and engagement and 
     undergraduate admissions; 
  • Approved recommendations from the board’s standing committees; and
  • Honored trustees whose service on the board will conclude in June.
