Orangetheory is one of 16 fitness clubs offering discounted membership through Duke Fitness Club and one of three facilities with locations outside the Triangle area, making them an accessible option for Duke colleagues who work outside the region or in another state.

In addition to Orangetheory, the following facilities in the Duke Fitness Club have gyms outside the Triangle area:

  • Fit4Life Health Club, with 17 North Carolina locations, is the newest addition to Duke Fitness Club. Fit4Life is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and has facilities as far away as Wilmington.
  • O2 Fitness Club has 15 locations in North Carolina and one in South Carolina.

LIVE FOR LIFE manages the enrollment process for facilities that are part of Duke Fitness Club and coordinates payroll deduction for membership fees. Facilities offer a discount on membership or enrollment fees, which is available to Duke University and Duke University Health System staff and faculty, retirees and their spouses or same-sex partners and dependents.

Duke Fitness Club aims to partner with gyms located in ZIP codes with at least 1,000 Duke households, offering discounted memberships at locations such as Clubworx in Fuquay-Varina, Bodyworx Aerobics and Fitness Center in Oxford and Total Fitness Xtreme in Roxboro.

“By partnering with gyms in high-density Duke communities, the DFC delivers health and fitness options to meet employees where they live and work,” said LeAnna Johnson, LIVE FOR LIFE Fitness Manager.

For Stapleton, signing up for Orangetheory through Duke Fitness Club was an easy decision once she realized she not only could use her membership when she traveled but also could receive a discount.

“I realized I’d been missing out on such a great benefit that Duke offers this entire time,” she said.
