Trustees Reappoint Price to Third Term as President
Trustees also approve tuition and fees for next academic year
Highlights of the February session included an overview of how the School of Medicine has advanced DST through a structured, faculty-driven process designed to surface bold ideas and concentrate resources on a limited number of transformational themes. The session also featured an in-depth discussion of brain science and neuroengineering at Duke, a discussion of the importance of Duke’s data and AI in health ecosystem, and a panel on innovative operational models for healthcare systems.
Following analysis and discussion with university leadership and recognizing that students receiving financial aid will have their support adjusted for any increases, the Board of Trustees approved a 4.9% increase in the combined charges for tuition, standard fees, room and board for Duke undergraduates in 2026-27. The approved graduate and professional school tuition increases vary by college, school and program, generally falling in the 0 - 6.0% range.
For 2026-27, undergraduate tuition for students not receiving aid will be $73,740, and the combined charges for tuition, standard fees, room and board will be $96,597.
In other business, the board:
- Visited three DST sites on the medical center campus.
- Discussed progress of the Duke Climate Commitment.
- Received an update on the Duke University Health System (DUHS).
- Approved recommendations from the board’s standing committees.
