Register Your Duke Supported International Travel

The Global Travel Team is reminding students, faculty and staff about the importance of registering their international travel in the Duke Travel Registry. Registration is mandatory for all international travel with Duke support and ensures that the Duke community has access to vital safety resources and support in case of an emergency abroad.

Duke support includes any material involvement by Duke in a trip, such as financial or logistical support, academic approval, mentorship, or granting credit for work completed during travel. If a trip involves research, club competitions or unpaid internships for credit outside the United States, it qualifies as Duke support and must be registered in the Duke Travel Registry.

ISOS (or International SOS)  provides pre-trip country information and advisories, telephone advice while abroad, referrals for full-scale evacuation by private air ambulance, and an app to stay up to date on in-country alerts

Office of Global Health & Safety  provides academic enrichment travel support for faculty/staff traveling with students away from Duke’s Durham campus, participation agreement guidance for programs, personalized safety guidance for taking students in the field, and risk management assessments
