Traffic and Parking Advisory for Duke-Virginia Football Game on Nov. 15

A large crowd is expected as the Blue Devils face Virginia in the 2025 Employee Appreciation game

Duke welcomes No. 20 Virginia to Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday for an Atlantic Coast Conference football showdown that is expected to draw a large crowd.

As Duke Football’s Employee Appreciation game, the event will feature free food and pre-game fun for Duke’s staff and faculty and their guests.

For fans headed to the game, check out these important game day updates on traffic, parking and more.

  • Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The pre-game Blue Devil Walk will take place near Cameron Indoor Stadium at 1:20 p.m. Gates to the stadium will open at 2 p.m.

  • As part of Employee Appreciation Day, Duke employees and their guests can enjoy a free tailgate on the Duke Football practice field with interactive games, a Junior Blue Devils Skills Challenge and kid-friendly activities. The pre-bagged meals will be distributed until 30 minutes before kickoff. Access the practice field via stairwells behind Sections 5, 24, 28, and 32, or use the elevator by Section 32 for ADA needs. The tailgate activities close at kickoff.
  • Free parking for the general public will available at the GC Lot and H Lot which are located off Anderson Street and Yearby Avenue and roughly a 19-minute walk from the stadium. Find an online map with directions to and from all public parking lots here. The lots will open at 12:30 p.m. and shuttle buses will run from Yearby Avenue to Duke Chapel, which is roughly a 5-minute walk to the stadium. The buses will run from 12:30 p.m. to roughly an hour after the game ends.
  • Accessible parking is available at the Blue Zone lots off Duke University Road. A state-issued placard or hangtag is required for each vehicle using accessible parking.
  • Traffic checkpoints around West Campus will be active starting at 12:30 p.m. Access to portions of Towerview Road, Science Drive and Duke University Road will be limited to those with Iron Dukes parking permits and state-issued accessible parking placards, hangtags or license plates.
