Get Ready for a 'Spooktacular' Time at the Final Farmers Market of the Season

The Duke Farmers Market on Oct. 30 will offer a festive theme and fun

Get ready for the fall season with a special Duke Farmers Market from LIVE FOR LIFE, Duke’s employee wellness program.

The “Spooktacular” farmers market on Oct. 30 will allow for one last opportunity this season to enjoy local, fresh produce and goods amid a festive atmosphere.

The market takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Duke Medical Pavilion Greenway and features favorite Halloween activities: trick or treating at vendor booths, a costume contest for both individuals and groups, a photo booth, festive recipes and more.

New vendors on hand will include Cherry's Products, which features hot sauces, Lavish Soap Box with handmade bath and body products and Soul Sista Body Essentials skincare products and candles. Market-goers can snack on free bags of popcorn and participate in a nutrition taste-testing table featuring a healthy fall snack of pumpkin pie fruit dip.

“It’s a chance to enjoy seasonal fun, support local growers and makers, relax, connect with coworkers and celebrate the end of the market season," said Brian Zelanko, Health Promotion Manager for LIVE FOR LIFE. "It’s a perfect mix of community, wellness and spooky fun."

If you wear your Halloween costume to the market, make sure you snap a photo and submit it to Working@Duke's Blue Devil Halloween Photo Contest 2025 by noon on Nov. 3 for a chance at frightfully good prizes.

Beyond the market, you can also show off your wickedly creative costumes, decked-out office or home workspaces, or spooky team spirit by snapping a pic and sending it our way.

Bewitching Guidelines to Keep in Mind:

  • Photos must be taken during October 2025.
  • Open to Duke University and Health System staff and faculty.
  • One photo per employee.
  • Submit by noon on Nov. 3 for a chance to win thrilling prizes.
  • Eligible submissions will be posted in an album on Working@Duke’s Facebook page by 5 p.m. Nov. 4 when voting opens.
  • Like your favorite Halloween photo on the Facebook album by 5 p.m. Nov. 5. Your like is your vote! (You must have a Facebook account to vote.)
