As part of Duke University’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with communities around the state of North Carolina, Duke President Vincent E. Price and members of the President’s Cabinet recently visited Fort Bragg, home of the U.S. Army’s Airborne and Special Operations Forces. North Carolina is a military-intensive state, ranking fourth nationally in active-duty military population.
During their day-long visit, the Duke leadership delegation met over lunch with Duke alumni who are stationed at Fort Bragg and leaders from the XVIII Airborne Corps, with whom the university has an Educational Partnership Agreement, and met with leaders of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC).
The engagement featured a tour of the Joint Innovation Outpost and discussions on how to further Duke’s collaboration with the XVIII Airborne Corps to help advance innovation efforts for the warfighter. The group also received a briefing on the unique mission of the USASOC, a technology demonstration, and training exercise.
