Leigh Goller Reappointed to Third Term as Chief Audit, Risk and Compliance Officer
As chief audit, risk and compliance officer, Goller provides comprehensive assurance services across Duke University, Duke University Health System and DUMAC.
She oversees the Office of Audit, Risk and Compliance, which is responsible for independent internal audits, advisory activities, the university risk management process, and the university’s institutional compliance program.
During Goller’s second term she led several priority initiatives including:
- Enhancements to Duke’s internal audit and sponsored programs assurance and research compliance (SPARC) functions;
- A redesign and relaunch of the institutional compliance program, including staff and faculty advisory committees;
- Establishment of an IT risk and data protection focus area;
- Development of online resources supporting institution-wide initiatives; and
- Implementation of a new institutional compliance software platform.
Goller has served as chief audit, risk and compliance officer since 2016. Prior to joining Duke’s Office of Audit, Risk and Compliance in 2007, she worked for nearly 15 years in private sector audit and accounting roles, including positions at Arthur Andersen and Grant Thornton.
A native of North Carolina and a licensed CPA, Goller earned her undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her master’s degree in liberal studies from Duke.
