Duke Forest Closure for Deer Herd Reduction Begins Sept. 23

The Office of the Duke Forest has announced that the 17th annual deer herd reduction program on the Duke Forest Teaching and Research Laboratory will commence on Monday, Sept. 23, and end on Friday, December 13. During this time, the Durham, Korstian and Blackwood Divisions will be closed to public access and for all recreation Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays will be open for normal use.
The program will be suspended and the Forest open for recreational use on Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday, Nov. 28 and 29.
