The Graduate School to Undergo First-Ever Review

Committee will assess key roles, functions, partnerships

Duke's Graduate School oversees both research-based master’s programs and doctoral programs across the university, and supports steadily increasing populations of graduate and professional students, which now outnumber enrolled undergraduate students.

Although the Graduate School conducts reviews of all graduate programs, the current functions and operations of the Graduate School itself have not been recently reviewed.  Accordingly, Provost Sally Kornbluth has charged a committee with examining The Graduate School’s current structure and recent evolution and with making recommendations for how best to direct its development in the near future.

The 13-member committee is chaired by Michael Boyce, Associate Professor of Biochemistry. The committee welcomes feedback from members of the Duke community on the organization and structure of The Graduate School itself and on graduate education across Duke. Comments and requests to speak with committee members may be sent to tgs-review@duke.edu. All information submitted will be held strictly confidentially by the committee.
