Simon Appointed to National Academies Panel Advancing Innovation Policy

Denis Simon Denis Simon, executive vice chancellor at Duke Kunshan University and Professor of China Business and Technology at Duke's Fuqua School of Business, has been selected to serve on a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine committee that may help shape US and global policy on innovation in the sciences and other fields.

Simon has been invited to serve on the Committee on Science and Innovation Leadership for the 21st Century: Challenges and Strategic implications for the United States.  The panel is part of the National Academies’ policy and global affairs unit.

“This is a real honor to be asked to serve on such a prestigious panel with such an exemplary group of recognized experts,” Simon said. “Given the accelerated pace of technological change and the massive discontinuities occurring across the global economy and R&D system, it is a very appropriate time for the National Academies to study those critical forces that are re-shaping and re-configuring the international landscape.”
