Said@Duke: David Sanger On The Role Of The Press

Part of the Said@Duke: 2019-2020 Series
Said@Duke: “Frankly, the way the founders designed the system, we are not there to be a supporting, cheering squad for the government. We’re also not here to be the resistance but to report on how policy is actually made.” -- David Sanger, New York Times

David Sanger, a reporter for The New York Times for more than 30 years, spoke this week on the role of the press and on cyberwarfare. “The big concern you have is that as our dependency on all things digital expands, the attack surface expands. The attack surface is expanding faster than our cybersecurity,” he said. The Duke Program in American Grand Strategy hosted the event.
