Jenny Tone-Pah-Hote, citizen of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, and associate professor of American Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, gave a gallery talk Sunday at the Nasher Museum as part of "Art for a New Understanding: Native Voices, 1950s to Now." She spoke at length about artist Oscar Howe (Yanktonai Dakota), whom she quoted above.
