Bringing the Holidays to Duke Children's Hospital

Volunteers with St. Francis of Assisi Raleigh brought holiday cheer to patients at Duke Children's Hospital. Patients and their families visited with Santa, picked out a donated gift and listened to Christmas carols performed by the church's elementary school students.

“The smiles on the faces of the kids as they walk away from Santa with their new gifts, it will make your entire day if you’re here to see it,” said Clare Tiemann, child life specialist at Duke Children’s Hospital.

The event is one of several for Duke Children’s Hospital patients and their families over holiday season.
