From Sanford's Philip Bennett: New Frontline Documentary Explores Rise of Stephen Bannon, Tonight

As special projects editor at the PBS documentary series Frontline, Phil Bennett has overseen acclaimed documentaries such as “The Choice 2016″ and “Divided States of America”

Tonight on PBS, Bennett's Frontline team and filmmaker Michael Kirk showcases the inside story of Trump adviser Stephen Bannon’s war — with radical Islam, Washington and White House rivals. Drawing on nearly 30 in-depth interviews with political insiders, Bannon’s former associates at Breitbart News, authors and journalists, the film tells the inside story of Bannon’s fight to deliver on Trump’s promises, with a confrontational style based on his personal crusade to dramatically transform America. The documentary investigates who Bannon is, what shaped his worldview and his influence and footing within the Trump administration.

Bennett has spent more than 30 years as a foreign correspondent, newspaper editor and television journalist. He is the Eugene C. Patterson Professor of Journalism and Public Policy at the Sanford School of Public Policy.
