This Week at Duke: School Days Program and 3D Printing Project

Fuqua School of Business professor Jennifer Francis has been named Duke’s new vice provost for academic affairs. Professor Francis joined the Duke faculty in 1987 and was one of the first faculty members to teach at Duke Kunshan University.

Last week, Duke hosted local eighth-graders for a visit to residence halls, classrooms, and laboratories. The School Days program is sponsored by the Duke-Durham Neighborhood Partnership and helps get kids thinking early about college.

Catch up on this week’s Halloween fun at Duke with Working@Duke’s annual Halloween photo contest. You can see all the photos on Working@Duke’s Facebook page.

Finally, if you’re looking for a cool 3D printer project, check out this project made by Patrick Flowers, a PhD Candidate in Benjamin Wiley’s lab. They’ve created a 3D-printable material that can be used to print multi-layer circuits, like the ones that power the eyes on this 3D-printed Terminator head.
